no viagra or mail order brides here. just need the firmware link please. I'm running Lion but have a Windows 7 bootcamp partition. I have an MPD32 and need the new firmware so that i can actually save the global settings (specifically the external midi clock setting). I think that's all you need to know right? Thank you for the help, I will be writing Akai an angry letter expressing my frustrations with all the BS they are making us go through to update their products. I've found the documentation and support for their products to be the worst I've ever experienced.

You have been private messaged the access details to download the SYX file you need. Check your private messages now.
Note that the Vyzex MPD32 editor does not have a 'Firmware Update Wizard' like our newer Akai Pro editors, so you'll need to consult the 'Firmware Update PDF' manual included with the editor software (you can open this document from the program's 'Manuals' menu). Rather than follow the steps described in the PDF, you should use it as a reference but follow these (more detailed) steps instead:

2. Unzip the 'mpd32_v1_03.Syx' to your desktop.
3. Connect the MPD24 to your computer via the USB cable. If your display comes up dark when you do this, unplug the USB cable and repeat the three-button combination power-up described in the Firmware Upgrade PDF to wake up the MPD32 and proceed to the next step.
4. Step MPD32's front panel to the 'Send SysEx' display,
5. Now launch Vyzex MPD32, dismissing any error dialogs you see.
6. Open the 'MIDI->MIDI In Ports...' menu dialog and uncheck the 'Always Start with All MIDI Ports Open' option and only select the MPD32's port ('USB Audio Device' on WinXP). Click 'OK' to accept.
7. Open the 'MIDI->MIDI Out Ports...' menu dialog and uncheck the 'Always Start with All MIDI Ports Open' option and only select the MPD32's port ('USB Audio Device' on WinXP). Click 'OK' to accept.
8. Your MPD32 should still display 'Send Sysex'. Now it's time to do that.
Open the 'MIDI->Transmit SYX File' menu dialog and select the 'mpd32_v1_03.Syx' file on your desktop. Click 'OK' to proceed.
9. Your MPD32's LCD should show bytes received and it should request an ENTER button press to restart. Before you do that, reopen the 'MIDI->MIDI In Ports...' and 'MIDI->MIDI Out Ports...' dialogs and recheck the 'Always Start with All MIDI Ports Open' options in both. Exit the editor and press that button on the MPD32 panel.
Your MPD32 should reboot fully functional and you should then be able to relaunch the Vyzex editor and have it successfully AutoSense and upload the MPD32's presets.

Hello Tony, I just joined your website and i am having major problems with my Akai Mpk49. I need the mpk49_v1_05.syx Firmware file and i saw in an earlier forum that you sent that file to someones email address and was wondering if you would do the same for me. I hope this gets to you in a relatively timely manner i would love to be able to utilize my product.
Thank you,
Riley

I'm a little late to the dance, but I'm posting to prove I'm a human. And also I'd be ever-so-grateful for access to the advance Venom Vyzex download!

Joey, I am only replying to your post to ensure others get the message: We are no longer supplying firmware files or upgrade help. It's outside our contract with Akai Professional and we have been requested to forward all such requests to Akai Professional's tech support. Remember, we are supporting the editor software here and are not part of Akai Professional who made the hardware.
Anyone needing firmware files for their Akai Pro MPD/MPK or MAX controller should contact Akai Professional's support. That's all we can say on the subject from now on.
