no setupmqregistry.exe

Postby ademers1 » Tue Feb 16, 2010 5:26 pm

I just purchased an akaimpk49. I installed the vyzex software and followed the instructions in the read-me, but when I run the program (as an administrator) it says failed to run setupmqregistry.exe and then Vyzex mpk49 cannot identify my midi controller even though it is on and connected through a usb port. So I opened the folder to try to manually run the program and it is nowhere to be found. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with no success. Help. I am running windows 7

Are you using the latest (unofficial) version of the editor that we have posted here for download?

Here are the download links:

Win version: http://www.vyzor.com/downloads/akaipro/VyzexMPK491p05Setup_WIN.zip
Mac version: http://www.vyzor.com/downloads/akaipro/VyzexMPK491p05Pkg_MAC.zip

Uninstall the current version and install this new version. You should install with Administrator privileges or at least have the UAC feature turned on in the Windows control panel to allow non-administrator accounts to run the program.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks. That seems to have solved the setupmqregistry problem, except now vyzex cannot detect the mpk49. Nothing shows up at all for midi in ports but the midi out appears to be working fine. I tried the instructions on p.6 and 7 of the troubleshooting manual but it doesn't seem to work.

I managed to upgrade the firmware on my friend's mac but my computer still will not recognize the mpk49. I had a chicony usb 2.0 driver because my toshiba laptop came with a webcam but I uninstalled it and am still having no luck.

Have you checked out the Troubleshooting Guide PDF available from the program's 'Manuals' menu?

Please post screen capture graphics of the 'MIDI->MIDI In Ports...' and 'MIDI->MIDI Out Ports...' dialogs and we will try to decipher what your problem is.

A bit brutal, but sometimes that has to happen when Windows is involved...

Good to hear you are back on track!
