Never plug it in before you start up your computer.
Start up your computer let everything settle then
plug in the mpk25 then start up reaper( of course after you've downloaded midi ox from http://www.midiox.com and check if its
working).
If it doesn't work with reaper shut reaper down plug out the mpk25 then plug it in again and start up reaper.
It should work.
Also do the same when trouble shooting with midi ox.
if you see no midi response shut software off plug mpk25 out then in and try again.
Make sure the track presets(in Reaper) in pref.(ctrl p) are set to midi all not stereo or mono. You can also do it from the track on the default screen located on the volume feed back meter,
Also enable the device in the midi device section of pref(in's and out's).
You should be good to go after that.
