Rick Bonnin Set and ProTools MPowered 8 conflict
Moderator: Psicraft Tony
When I open the Rick Bonnin Set then launch ProTools MPowered 8 the system locks up and I get a terrible screeching sound. I can use either alone but not together. BTW, I am using the latest Vyzex Venom v1.17
editor for VENOM. Thanx!

Sigh... Vyzex Venom v1.17 is not a beta. It's a release candidate, and an extremely golden one at that.
Your problem is almost certainly a feedback loop - Either audio or MIDI. Check that your outputs aren't running back into your inputs in the editor's GLOBAL settings, or at least turn down the audio instrument gain and direct monitor knobs on the Venom front panel to be sure. Neither the Rick Bonnin set or the Vyzex editor are directly to blame here.
Ever stick a microphone into a powered speaker? It's the same effect I think you'll find.

Lol. Well old man I certainly put things in the wrong box but never my input to my output, just doesn't figure. I only have this happen when I use the Rick Bonnin set, now don't get me wrong because it is quite the lil doggie and then some but I will get at this issue later and get back to you. Pardon me on the beta thinga ma jiggy, I'm just having so much fun with VENOM, the Vyzex Venom v1.17 which is not a beta, and the Rick Bonnin set right now that I couldn't trouble shoot it myself. Thanx for the heads up and keep up the great work!!!

If it's not a feedback loop between Protools and your Venom then I am at a loss to explain what could be causing the trouble. Maybe you could try saving the singles you like the best from the Bonnin set as bundle files and then opening them from disk without the Bonnin set loaded first?
The idea here is to narrow down if its a global setting in the Bonnin set that is causing the conflict, or if it is some setting in one or more of the presets.
Let us know if you figure anything else out. For now I will pass this on to the guys at M-Audio for their attention.
Cheers,
Tony

Hmmm, I will give that a shot. The way I usually start the process is to
1. run Vyzex Venom v1.17
2. click on file
3. click on Rick Bonnin file I added to M-Audio VENOM folder
This works great but when I open Pro Tools MP8.5 and press play or hit a key on VENOM, there is the screeching noise.
I don't use the VENOM sound card and I usually have its volume down. I will try saving the singles you like the best from the Bonnin set as bundle files and then opening them from disk without the Bonnin set loaded first! One thing I truly liked was that I didn't have to load individual singles, too time consuming and to many toys to run through looking for sounds. I will give it a go and so much appreciate your valuable time to help me with this...
