Hi there, my 1st post.

I find that my Venom is changing its multi set-up whenever i hit a program change switch on my DSI Tetra which is plug into a 2nd USB port on my Mac, running Logic. This means all the tweaks i've done on various parts are lost as they're replaced by the preset Multi that replaces whatever i was up to. Please would someone make my world better and let me know if i can disable this kind of receive message on the Venom. Or some other fantastic solution (i don't have a midi connect available to the Mac, yet)

I'm decidedly rusty on MIDI...

Ta in advance,
Shedrick

Open the Vyzex Venom editor, press the Global button and look in the MIDI section of the GUI: There is a button called Multi Select: Turn it off.

That's all you need to do.

Thanks, it would have been sweet if that had worked but the Venom Global Multi Select is off and the multi part still changes when i hit the button on the Tetra. Any other suggestions?

You know, this really is 'read the manual' territory but since you've got me typing I'll answer this question anyway. ;)

When the 'Multi Select' button is off, that means Venom won't select MULTIS on reception of program changes. I took your problem being the loading of multis (and therefore the loss of edited parts) but what you're talking about loading is the individual Multi PARTS in response to program changes, which are singles and patterns.

Turn of the Single Select: This will prevent individual parts from loading when you send a program change into your Venom. It will also stop singles from being selected in SINGLE mode.

Another way to prevent these problems is to have the Tetra set to a different MIDI channel to the MIDI Channel set for the parts in your Venom's multis (typically 1-4).

Good luck,

Tony
