How-To: Converting UniQuest Banks into Vyzex Sets
This How-To document describes how to take a *.BNK (Bank) file created with UniQuest for EWI4000s and create a *.SQS (Set) file that is compatible with Vyzex EWI4000S. This procedure is not specific to the EWI4000s and can be applied to convert data from most legacy UniQuest programs to their latest Vyzex equivalent.
You'll need working copies of both editors: The original UniQuest and the new Vyzex. In some cases these programs will be running on separate computers and perhaps even different operating systems. If this is your situation you'll need to use a USB key or network connection to transfer the newly created Set file between the computers in question.
Step 1: Open the Source Bank File in UniQuest
Begin by opening the Bank file you wish to convert in UniQuest. In this example we're using the factory bank file installed with UniQuest EWI4000s, while the file you wish to convert will undoubtedly be different:

Step 2: Select 'Default Set' in the Studio Window
Although Bank (*.Bnk) files are not supported by Vyzex, Set files (*.Sqs) are. UniQuest creates and opens Set files whenever you select 'Default Set' in the Studio Window:
Step 3: Press the 'New' mini-button to create a new Set
Now press the 'NEW' mini-button to create a new Set within UniQuest. You'll see the new set is completely empty inside. Now select the 'Preset Bank' component in the 'New - Set' window to show the empty bank:

Step 4: Select all presets in the original bank
Now switch back to your Bank and select all 100 presets (you may need to drag the window wide enough to show them all):

Step 5: Drag selected presets from the original bank into the new set
Now drag the selection over to the new set window's Preset Bank component. If your screen is too small to handle this easily, you can alternatively copy the selection in the bank to the clipboard, select every preset in the new set's preset bank and perform a paste operation to transfer the 100 presets.

Step 6: Save the new Set file to your Desktop
Perform a File->Save operation and navigate to your Desktop as the destination folder: This will make finding the file from within Vyzex much easier. If your Vyzex installation is on a different computer, save this file to a location that will be accessible from the other machine such as a shared network drive or a USB Key drive.

Step 7: Open the new Set file from Vyzex
Now launch the Vyzex editor and perform a File->Open operation and navigate to your Desktop (or other shared folder) and select the Set file you just created with UniQuest:

Your data is now open inside the Vyzex editor. Choose 'Save As' from the file menu to save the file to the documents folder used by the Vyzex editor.
